#2399 CD 257 HEMINGRAY - 60 Hemingray blue.
The ever popular "Mickey Mouse" insulator, this one in an attractive "Hemingray blue" coloration.
Various manufacturers produced saddle groove, high voltage insulators in a similar size, most often the CD 259 and CD 260. Hemingray had it's own version, likely better suited for use in many applications. Thicker ears, a wider saddle grove and a larger area under the ears for better securing a tie wire were certainly "selling points" for the "Mouse."
Attractive color!
Four of the sharp drip points that appear complete or nearly so from the outside are only partially flaked. Remainder of insulator is excellent.
