#2453       CD 162       H.G. CO.      PATENT MAY 2 1893.     PETTICOAT.       Dark royal purple.   

Beautiful, rich, dark purple coloration, quite unusual for a Hemingray product.  Most were found at various locations in the state of Kansas, where they were used by electric power companies. 

Pencil eraser diameter nick on the base corner below the "3" removes half of one drip point.  Chip at reverse base corner (2/3 pinkie nail size) removes half of one drip point.  Otherwise, very near mint.
