Description

#2461      CD 162      HEMINGRAY-19       "Carnival" iridescent.

Hemingray and Corning both used oxides as a treatment on various types of insulators, the CD 162 being one of the scarcer designs with this feature.  Hemingray employed molds embossed with the "O-4" or "38" date codes, this being an "0-4" example.

Many of the examples currently in collections were used by power companies in Kansas.

Outer area is close to mint.  Has a little minor nibbling on the edge of the thin, inner skirt.
