Description

#2521      CD 154       ZICME.       Bright cobalt blue.

A beautiful color that's quite rare, with only a handful known!  Of the numerous colors Zicme insulator were produced, this is among the rarest and certainly the most desirable.

"Zicme" embossed insulators were made in Colombia in a small factory operated by Solomon Zundel.  They were manufactured in hand operated presses, so some examples have a crude appearance.  Of the numerous glass companies that produced the CD 154 around the world, none compare to the wide range of colors made at this Colombian factory.

Finding a cobalt blue example without signifiant damage is quite difficult.  This one ranks among the best, with only minor, small flaking below the reverse wire ridge mold seam.
