A tall beehive style insulator with wide wire groove produced for the Thompson-Houston Electric Company. Most likely produced by Brookfield in the 1880's. T-H.E. formed in 1882 and in 1892 it merged with Edison General Electric Company to form the General Electric Company.
These scarce items have witnessed accelerated interest recently, with escalating values due to their unique appearance.
B-B ding above the front wire groove, just left of center and another on lower edge of wire groove (at left) can both be seen in the photo. The larger bubble at far left skirt is fully enclosed and not damage. Shallow fingernail chip on base and minor imperfections.
