Description

#2685        132.2     S. T. PAISLEY   MAKER   BEAVER FALLS, PA.        L.A. CAUVET’S   PAT’D   JULY 25, 1865.       Aqua.

Probably produced by a glass house in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.  Although the CD 132.2 that's marked only with a dome numeral can be obtained without great difficulty, the embossed "S. T. Paisley" units are rarely encountered.  Perhaps less than ten are known to collectors knowledgeable on the subject of "Beaver Falls" insulators.

S.T. Paisley’s association with any glass house is unknown, so the embossed “maker” reference remains a mystery at this time.  He was associated with the communications industry in the Pittsburgh area, but further research needs to be done on his activities.  One of the key pieces to the “Beaver Falls” insulator group.

Has only minor blemishes, consisting of a shallow flake at base edge that's only pencil eraser diameter, a couple other match head surface marks and other minuscule marks.   Very slightly tumble cleaned.
