#2734 CD 178 CALIFORNIA 303 SANTA ANA. Sage green.
Various glass factories manufactured this design, including one in Long Beach, California that manufactured the "C.G.I. CO" and "California" embossed insulators. The CD 178 insulators with "303 Santa Ana" marking are found with and without the additional "California" embossing. Sage colored units are only found with the combined embossing configuration, whereas smoke and amethyst are found both ways.
The CD 178 was used in various locations of the country, but saw the most widespread use for power distribution on the West Coast.
