Description

#2742      CD 203.2       ARMSTRONG'S   TW.       Colorless.

On November 30, 1950, Elmer J. Bonnesen of West Orange, New Jersey applied for a patent involving an insulator, which was  issued number 2,734,098 more than five years later, on February 7, 1956.

The patent was assigned to the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, and involved a rain shed made of elastic material which fit between the upper and lower grooves of a transposition type insulator.  The result: a strange appearing insulator with four grooves.

This is a rarely encountered item!  Despite the many, many thousands of scarce and rare insulators sold by Pole Top Discoveries in auctions during the past 35+ years, only a couple CD 203.2 have been offered.  In fact, only one has been offered in over 20 years, attesting to the true rarity of this item!

Spectacular, unused appearance.  Not even a pinhead mark could be found on this choice gem!!!!
