Description

#2775      Corrugated Type  Insulator.      Brown porcelain.

Insulator height: 4-1/2 inches.  Height of insulator, pin and arcing rod: 10 inches.

Unmarked insulator from Great Britain.  Once part of Keith Neal's collection, later purchased by Marilyn Albers after Keith's passing, and still later became a part of the Jim & Lis Bergman collection after Marilyn passed.

Known as the corrugated pattern, this type became popular in the 1880's and was used along various railways in Great Britain.

Still retains a tag identifying it as part of the W. Keith Neal collection.

Iron rod is attached to the iron mounting pin, arcing upward and over top of the insulator.  We assume this is a means of providing lightning protection.  There can't be many examples surviving with this configuration!

Very near mint+ condition.

Lis & Jim Bergman collection.
