Description

#2824       CD 151       H.G. CO.     PETTICOAT.        Depression glass green.

Excellent glass clarity and unusual coloration make these old Hemingray products popular with collectors.  Some were found on the “Rock Island” railroad right of way in Iowa many years ago.

Seldom seen for sale in recent years.

The Hemingray Glass Company manufactured various products besides insulators, including wares such as lamps.  Sometimes large glass batches initially created for lamps and other products were used in insulator production.  Likely, that's is the case with these "depression glass" green units, which have been found in very limited numbers.

The sharp, top wire ridge has three flakes in the front.  Two are wooden match head size.  One is just a little larger.  Reverse upper wire ridge has two flakes nearly identical to the front, and another that's narrower than a pencil eraser diameter, but just a touch longer.  Shallow b-b ding on dome.  There's some small damage, but not that distracting.

Priced at less than 60% of what an excellent condition example sells for!   This one will likely disappear quickly, but if it's still on the site as a Buy-Now item by mid day Sunday, a couple extra pictures will be added, and then it will be purchased in a hurry!  Buy it, and if not 100% satisfied, your purchase amount will be cheerfully refunded along with payment for the return shipping!

Buy-Now Price: $725.

BUY-NOW lots are subject to the normal 12% buyer premium, added to the Buy-Now price.

All lots in this event numbered #2792 and up are obtainable using two different purchase methods.  A bidder has the option of bidding on these lots at the current next raise as an auction item.  Or, you may make an instant purchase by clicking the "BUY-NOW" area, positioned just below the green "SUBMIT BID" button.

A reserve has been set on Buy-Now lots.  Once the reserve amount has been met, the Buy-Now option will no longer be available.

Buy-Now and auction purchases will be invoiced via email by mid day Tuesday, January 31.  Invoices will also be viewable to purchasers on the auction site at that time by clicking the "MY ACCOUNT" tab on the upper portion of the auction page.
