Description

#2828       1000       Unembossed.      Glass Block.       Bright green.

The largest and perhaps most well known discovery of glass blocks was many decades ago in a Gallatin, Tennessee railroad building.  Most of the units recovered were of various exotic colors including several differing green and darker amber shades and tones.

Included in the Gallatin discovery were several of this beautiful green coloration.  To our knowledge, examples in this exact color have not been found elsewhere. The small quantity of green units found decades ago have been distributed around the country with collectors, and they are rarely offered for sale.

The third photo depicts illustrations of block style insulators as they were mounted in crossarm and side bracket applications.  In both cases, a small piece of board was fastened over top of the insulator to help secure it, and protect from weather.

Some shallow flakes along sharp edges (like all of them have).  Chip on top corner, as shown below arrow in second image.  A pretty nice looking example.

Identical in color to the green glass block sold as Lot #2677 in Pole Top Discoveries' January, 2023 event.  That example fetched $4480 with buyer premium.  Compare the two.... the only difference is the top corner chip on this one, which certainly does not lower the value that much!

Buy-Now Price: $2100.

BUY-NOW lots are subject to the normal 12% buyer premium, added to the Buy-Now price.

Nearly all lots in this event are obtainable using two different purchase methods.  A bidder has the option of bidding on these lots at the current next raise as an auction item.  Or, you may make an instant purchase by clicking the "BUY-NOW" area, positioned just below the green "SUBMIT BID" button.

A reserve has been set on Buy-Now lots.  Once the reserve amount has been met, the Buy-Now option will no longer be available.

Buy-Now and auction purchases will be invoiced via email by mid day Monday, February 20.  Invoices will also be viewable to purchasers on the auction site at that time by clicking the "MY ACCOUNT" tab on the upper portion of the auction page.
