Description

#2846        CD 485       EIV    147        Greenish aqua.

Height: 4-1/2 inches.

Similar in overall design to a CD 175 Hemingray-25 "doorknob," but larger and with a flared skirt.

A sizable insulator used along a canal in France where large electric operated "tractors" were employed to pull barges in the canal.  These large glass insulators were used on poles which supplied the electric power to the tractors.

The aqua "EIV" insulators were later installations which replaced earlier (broken or damaged) examples.  Due to limited usage, only about six aqua EIV units are reported to have been recovered.

Sparkling, very, very near mint condition.

From the Jim & Lis Bergman collection.

Buy-Now Price: $425.

BUY-NOW lots are subject to the normal 12% buyer premium, added to the Buy-Now price.

Nearly all lots in this event are obtainable using two different purchase methods.  A bidder has the option of bidding on these lots at the current next raise as an auction item.  Or, you may make an instant purchase by clicking the "BUY-NOW" area, positioned just below the green "SUBMIT BID" button.

A reserve has been set on Buy-Now lots.  Once the reserve amount has been met, the Buy-Now option will no longer be available.

Buy-Now and auction purchases will be invoiced via email by mid day Monday, February 20.  Invoices will also be viewable to purchasers on the auction site at that time by clicking the "MY ACCOUNT" tab on the upper portion of the auction page.
