Description

#2982       CD 134       OAKMAN       PATD SEPT 13, 81.       Aqua

A rarely encountered embossing. While the “American” embossed examples are readily acquired, OAKMAN marked units are seldom offered for sale!

The 1881 Oakman patent involved producing a threaded glass "thimble" which was then inserted into an insulator being formed in a separate mold, presumably creating a well formed interior screw thread.

Second photo shows a small, open bubble that has just a little flaking on the edge, affecting the embossed letter "P."  Shiny, very near mint.
