#2984 CD 140 JUMBO (1890 dates on skirt). OAKMAN M'F'G CO BOSTON (on base). Light blue aqua.
Another embossing variation for this extra large and impressive power glass insulator.... the June 17 1890 and Aug 19 1890 patent dates appear on the skirt.
These extra large gems were among the latest insulators produced during Oakman's involvement with glass production, which had started in the 1860's.
Shallow, flake type chip is middle fingernail size, below the "Jumbo" embossing, which has a related course spot on the edge/base that affects part of the letters "CO." Above described damage is shallow and confined to only one area.
Mike & Shirley Johnson collection.
