#3012 CD 1038 CUTTER. PAT APR. 26 04. Medium dark aqua.
Embossed in a circular pattern on the top.
This unusual design was patented by Scott C. Cutter of Oswego, Illinois, and was used primarily in wooded areas where the insulators were fastened to trees.
Most of the concave base units (like this example) appear to have been made at the Brookfield factory in New Jersey.
Glass Cutters have been found at numerous locations in all regions of the US, but typically only in limited numbers. They were used from New York State, through the Midwest, up into South Dakota and as far west as California and the Pacific Northwest.
Shallow, light flakes at base edge. Chip at base edge (at center in photo) and a similar size chip on back base corner, on opposite side.
Mike & Shirley Johnson collection.
