Description

#3072        Unmarked.       Wood.

Height: 4-5/8 inches.  Presumed United Kingdom origin.

A rather sizable insulator made of wood, the upper portion of the interior being ringed, likely to facilitate the cementing of an inner shed made of wood, vulcanite or stoneware.

This exact example is illustrated as Fig. 11 in Keith Neal's book titled Railway and Other Rare Insulators.

Split vertically in half and glued.

Jim & Lis Bergman collection.
