Description

#3074        Z     N S R        White porcelain.

Height: 3-1/2 inches.  Smooth, unthreaded pinhole.   Double petticoat insulator from the United Kingdom.

Shown as Fig. 56 & Fig. 57 in Keith Neal's book Searching For Railway Telegraph Insulators.  Keith stated: "North Stafford Railway, early porcelain line insulator in use since the line was cut, and dug up in the bank between Keele and Pipegate.  Dates from about 1860."

One of the rarest insulator types with a railroad marking.

Chip on the thin flange at top.  Inner skirt is chipped and about 2/3 complete.

Retains Keith Neal's identification tag.
