Description

#369       CD 132     PATENT  DEC 19 1871.      2.      Dark green.

An amazing color for this early Hemingray "bullet."  Of the several insulator styles found with the 1871 patent date, few are known in various exotic green shades, and this is the first of any design we've encountered in this particular rich, dark hue.  An amazing beauty, reportedly found near a UPRR railroad station in Wyoming.

Big, bold embossing!  Wow!  A unique beauty!

Entire outer area and base are very near mint. A nearly invisible internal stress line follows the top spiral of the threaded pinhole.  For the most part, this appears to have possibly been formed from a fold in the glass during the threading process, at time of manufacture.  Without a super bright mag-light, this would go totally undetected

Ross Baird collection.
