Description

#474     CD 287.1     F.M. LOCKE & CO.  VICTOR N.Y.     PATD MAY 22 1894.     Bright peacock blue.

A colorful power glass insulator made for Locke by the Hemingray Glass Company.  Limited numbers have been found, the majority recovered in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area decades ago.  A small number of the peacock blue units were also found in Texas.

Entire insulator is free of any chips or cracks, including the typically damage prone inner skirts.  Smaller than match head flake on the wire ridge.  Bruise under the surface on the dome top is 3/4 the size of a 25¢ coin (see second photo).

Dick Bowman collection.
