#668 740.1 Unmarked. Deep olive-amber.
The additional raised collar below the wire groove differentiates this design from a regular 740. The 740.1 is most often found in aquamarine coloured glass with a flat, smooth base. This deeply coloured example is much scarcer. This particular mold variant also has a raised ring on the base and another between the pinhole and base (see second photo). Perhaps less than ten of these dark coloured, ring base units have been encountered.
Wonderful, crude texture, heavy creases, and a “road map” pattern on the entire surface!
Passes some light in the dome and skirt when viewed through one thickness of glass.
Exceptional, very near mint+ condition!
