#737 735 U.P.R.R. MULFORD & BIDDLE Aqua.
The 735 threadless insulators with “U.P.R.R.” embossing were produced for use on the historic, first transcontinental railroad line in America, completed in 1869. They were placed in service through Wyoming and into Utah, all the way to Promontory, where the rails of the Union Pacific and the Central Pacific met in May 1869.
The vast majority of known examples have some form of damage, with excellent condition units being few and far between. Typically, exceptional examples such as this jewel sell for premium amounts due to their scarcity in such fine condition. Tumble cleaned. Very near mint!
