Description

#824      CD 158      Unembossed       Aqua.      Four segmented threads.

Similar in many ways to the embossed Boston Bottle Works items, but not marked.  Possibly produced after the existence of Boston Bottle Works, these unmarked examples are much more difficult to obtain than the marked units.

The four segmented threads on this example are quite peculiar.  The threads are positioned on four raised segments like other Bostons.  However, the threading, rather than starting at the lower end of the raised segment, is smooth until traversing about 3/4" in distance into the pinhole before the threads start.

Found in the early 1970's along a north-south railroad right of way in New York State, west of the state line from Danbury, Connecticut.

Easily grades very near mint, with a match head wire ridge flake, and another paper thin flake up form the base that's pencil eraser diameter.

Quite nice condition and bright, sparkling glass.
