#828 CD 162 H.G. Co. PATENT MAY 2 1893. PETTICOAT. Dark oxblood.
The elusive and highly sought, oxblood signal! One of the most popular colors among signal collectors. Found primarily in the Pacific Northwest on lines operated by the Washington Water Power Company, with some also used on electric lines in the Kansas City area.
The red tones within the glass are most pronounced in direct sunlight or with incandescent lighting.
Small, shallow chip on the reverse base edge removes part of one drip point (see far left, center in second photo). Otherwise, only just a little partial drip point flaking. Certainly, nicer condition than most oxblood examples.
