"7 CAUVET'S PAT JULY 25 1865" embossed on dome.
Among the earliest threaded insulator designs produced by Brookfield. This concave skirt style was carried over from the threadless era. Shortly after threaded production began, other designs became more popular with telegraph companies, and this style witnessed somewhat limited manufacture.
The abundance of embossing is strong on both dome and skirt, making this an attractive example!
Has only minor blemishes, including a 1/8" x 1/2" flat spot on the reverse wire ridge, likely caused from coming in contact with another object during the annealing process. Consider it very near mint!
