#1587 CD 162 HEMINGRAY PATENT MAY 2 1893 PETTICOAT.
Another beautifully colored 1893 patent dated Hemingray with mustard toning.
We didn't even attempt to put a color name on this one! There are strong mustard-olive tones in what likely started out as amber glass. It's not amber... it's not mustard... it's not olive. Rather it's a color that comprises an appearance of all three!
We don't recall ever offering a similar example in over five decades of hobby involvement, so are of the belief it's a pretty rarely encountered and quite desirable color variant.
We find eight drip points that are only partially flaked. The majority of these are quite small, and only detected with careful examination. Glass surface is bright and shiny. Strong embossing. Glass has rich, abundant saturation, yet allows light to pass throughout, in a regular, backlighted cabinet.
A beauty!
