#1831 723 Dots and Dashes. Aqua.
Known as the "Dot & Dash Wade," these glass inserts fit snugly into a large, beehive shaped, wood covering (see second image).
They were used extensively by the Western Union Telegraph Company, mostly during the early to middle 1860's, as well as numerous private lines during the same time period.
Very near mint.
