Description

#2095      CD 140.5        (button)        Dark cobalt blue.

The raised "button" on the skirt is quite similar to those seen on many insulators with "EC&M Co" marking.  Perhaps there is a connection between the two types.

Quite a peculiar insulator type, likely dating from the 1870's..  They are quite broad and stocky, yet have a short pinhole cavity for such a sizable insulator.

Very limited numbers have been found in California.

Tight stress fracture (see second photo) traverses from base to dome.  Related, narrow, 5/8" chip up from base.  Coarse abrasion on reverse wire groove is 3/4 inch in length.

Shiny glass, and it displays excellent.  An insulator type rarely offered for sale.

From the collection of the late Cecil Boos.
