#2311 CD 266 PATENTED JUNE 17 1890 Dark aqua.
A large and very impressive power glass insulator, probably of Brookfield manufacture. A small number of these beauties were discovered decades ago inside a building in Wisconsin. Less than forty are reported to have been recovered.
The CD 266 has two inner skirts. One example is known without any inner skirts, and has been classified CD 266.5. It was depicted in a C.S. Knowles Catalogue, as shown in the above illustration.
Of the limited number known, most CD 266 have varying degrees of damage, some with rather sizable chips. This one ranks among the better examples. The entire outer area remains in great condition! One chip on the inner-most skirt, half the size of a 25¢ coin.
These rarely surface for sale, so this excellent example is worthy of very serious consideration!
