Description

#2827      CD 133.4       Unmarked.       Light pink.

A highly unusual and desirable color, of which very few example shave been found!

Typically termed a "Wormser bullet," the origins of their manufacture is simply speculation.  The Wormser Glass Company is known to have produced insulators for a communication company that constructed lines where numerous aqua and amethyst examples of this type bullet were found in service many years ago.  Therefore, it's been speculated that Wormser was a possible source.

A fairly sizable grouping of various attractive color tones can be assembled in this type insulator.  Examples in the purple family range from very light pink to a fairly dark shade of amethyst, with many shades in between.  Green units occasionally surface, and some offbeat colors including an unusual bluish gray tone are known.  The three most exotic colors are cobalt blue, sapphire blue and amber.

The majority of these "bullets" in aqua and other various colors have been found primarily in western Pennsylvania, with a few straying across state lines into eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia.  Only small numbers have been discovered in other pats of the country.

Easily grades very near mint.  The narrow base flake shown in the third image is super thin and not at all distracting.  Otherwise, only very minor surface blemishes which go virtually unnoticed.  A sparkling beauty with excellent glass clarity!
