#2970 CD 257 HEMINGRAY NO 60. Aqua with amber streaks.
A generous amount of well defined, pure amber streaks add great eye appeal to this "Mickey Mouse" insulator! Note also, this one is embossed "No 60" rather than the two patent dates normally associated with swirled examples.
The various designs of Hemingray insulators are often different from what other manufacturers produced. Numerous other glass houses produced a standard "saddle groove" insulator for high voltage, most manufacturing the CD 258 though 260 "helmet" designs, whereas Hemingray created a completely differing design, the CD 257 "Mickey Mouse" type.
The presence of pure amber streaks without green influence makes this one special!
Very near mint.
Mike & Shirley Johnson collection.
