Description

#3062      FOL    524      Green.

Length: 2-3/8 inches.

Embossed on both pieces.  The "FOL" lettering is mostly obliterated with a pebbly surface, but the "524" can be read under ideal lighting conditions.

A wire cleat designed for three wires, which were sandwiched between the upper and lower parts.  Used in conjunction with indoor wiring.  Once the wires were in place, the insulator was secured by inserting a screw through the perpendicular holes at center.

Many of the few known examples were discovered in the year 2000, inside the Folembray glass factory in Folembray, France.  Three sizes were discovered, this being the longest length.  This type was shown in the 1907 Folembray catalogue.

Very near mint.

From the Jim & Lis Bergman collection.
