#165 CD 257 HEMINGRAY PATENT JUNE 17 1893 MAY 2 1893. Swirled green mix. Wide groove type.
A special example with error "1893" marking instead of "1890" in the "June 17" embossing. Plus, this is the wide saddle groove type. A tough configuration to acquire in this attractive swirled green coloration!
Appears very near mint+. Extremely close inspection reveals a hard to detect internal fracture that follows a thread in the pinhole about half the distance around. If not pointed out, it would likely go undetected.
