Description

#193     CD 185    SPECIAL MINE INSULATOR     JEFFREY MFG. CO.     COLUMBUS OHIO.     PATENT SEPT. 25 1894.      Aqua.     Complete with original metal pin.

When the embossing is positioned upright, the drip points are on top.  This is an oddity, as the drip points were actually placed in the wrong position!

The pinhole is supposed to be larger at the top, tapering to a smaller diameter at the bottom.  If installed in that manner, the taper of the pinhole would dictate that the drip points be on top, as displayed here.

All mine insulators with the "Jeffrey" marking are quite scarce, and seldom appear for sale.  Aside from being desirable because of the drip point arrangement, this one also has plenty of character with a heavy orange peel textured surface.  Plus, don't forget the metal pin!

Two shallow base flakes, each 1/3 the size of a fingernail.  Some drip point flaking as seen in the images, and a little bruising below the drips as shown in the second photo.  Some damage, but certainly better condition than many mine insulators.

Buy-Now Price: $325.
