Description

#233      CD 158      BOSTON BOTTLE WORKS.   PATENT APPLIED FOR.      Aqua.     Four segmented threads.

The Boston Bottle Works operated in Somerville, Massachusetts circa 1871-1877.  The facility produced various articles of glass, including several different styles of telegraph insulators.  Most insulators made at the BBW factory were produced with Samuel Oakman’s patented segmented threads.

Exceptionally nice, very near mint condition.  Embossing on the inner skirt is flawless.  None of the usual flaking on the internal threads.  An all around great example!
