Description

#304    731     Unmarked.     Aqua with opaque olive impurities.

An unmarked "Compromise" style insulator, likely used along the transcontinental  Union Pacific Railroad.  This concave skirt design was introduced in 1865, and soon became the standard installed by Western Union Telegraph company and other competitors.  Found with relative ease in plain aqua, but quite scarce and desirable with this amount of impurities in the glass.

Tumble cleaned with just a little dullness in a couple small areas.  No chips, dings, cracks, nicks or other blemishes. Quite nice!

From the collection of the late Lawrence Carpenter.
