#496 CD 155 KERR DP1. Colorless with cobalt blue.
A large mass of vivid cobalt blue dominates a sizable portion of the insulator. These oddities were produced in limited numbers at the Kerr factory in 1972. Millville glass collector Bob Moss supplied a note to us with the following information: “In November, 1972 at the Kerr Glass Co. plant in Millville, New Jersey, two men decided to color some glass insulators. They placed the color in the feeders of shop #4 without the help of a stirrer in the feeder. As a result, all they were able to achieve was a touch of blue in the insulator.”
