Description

#1545       CD 135      CHI. INS. CO.     PATD OCT. 16. 1883.      Blue aqua with impurities.     Shoulder embossed.

A subtle patch of olive amber impurities filter through one side of the insulator.

A highly unusual design, likely produced at a glassworks in Ellenville, New York.  Although examples have been found in New York, Ohio, Illinois, Nebraska and perhaps other states, the majority of those now in collections were recovered many years ago in Mexico.

Pencil eraser diameter dome flake.  Remainder of insulator is very near mint.
