PATD SEPT. 13,1881, NOV. 13 1883, FEB.12, 1884. Yellowish green.
Produced using Samuel Oakman’s collapsible threading plunger. This process was one of many clever inventions by Oakman, and undoubtedly helped to speed the process of removing the threading plunger once the insulator was pressed.
The "beehive" style was produced for the American Insulator Company in an array of various attractive colors. This particular example has some yellowish toning in the green colored glass.
Flat base chip removes "1883, FEB.12, 1884." Remainder of insulator in excellent condition.
