Description

#1685        CD 260       CALIFORNIA        Amethyst with peach.

Predominantly burgundy tinted amethyst with some peach toning in the upper part of the dome and innermost portions of the ears.

Produced in Long Beach, California by a glass house that was known as the California Glass Insulator Company, and later as California Glass Works.  The factory is reported have started operation in 1912 and existed for a few years.  Various designs of California insulators were produced, including these "helmet" style examples.

Half pinkie nail chip on underside of ear corner (reverse side).  Remainder of insulator is excellent.

Very attractive color!

Update: 2:25 P.M., Tuesday, October 5.  Three additional photos added, showing the reverse and side of the insulator.  Note, the three circular dark areas in the ear are enclosed bubbles.
