Description

#2122       729       Unmarked.      Aqua.

A "Compromise" style threadless insulator, circa mid to late 1860's.  Several variants of concave skirt threadless were produced from 1865 to the early 1870's.  The 731 was likely produced in the greatest number.  The 729 is much scarcer, and typically found in dark or deep colors.  Aqua units are seldom encountered.

Glass surface is somewhat hazy from being buried underground. Minor surface blemishes.  No chips or cracks, and overall quite nice.

Amazingly, the pointed glass over-pour protruding from the base/skirt juncture has remained undamaged for over 150 years!

From the collection of the late Cecil Boos.
