#2363 CD 1038 CUTTER PAT APR 26 04. Dark aqua.
This unusual design was patented by Scott C. Cutter of Oswego, Illinois, and was used primarily in wooded areas where the insulators were fastened to trees.
Most of the concave base units (like this example) appear to have been made at the Brookfield factory in New Jersey.
Glass Cutters have been found at numerous locations in all regions of the US, but typically only in limited numbers. They were used from New York State, through the Midwest, up into South Dakota and as far west as California and the Pacific Northwest.
Base is far nicer than most. Has only one small, flake type chip (see photos) on each base edge.
Attractive, rich coloration! Their highly unusual design and scarcity makes them quite desirable to collectors.
