Description

#2724       CD 160.7       AM. INSULATOR CO. N.Y.      Bright blue aqua.

Finely detailed, base embossing with additional 1881 and 1883 patent dates. Tall dome with attractive “sno-cone” design.

The ingredients in the glass batches used to make many of the insulators produced for the American Insulator Company likely contained quartz mined near Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, resulting in bright glass with excellent clarity and richness.

The extra sharp wire ridge made this design quite susceptible to damage.  However, this is a wonderful exception, with only one wire ride chip, half the size of a pinkie nail.

Shiny, sparkling surface.
