#3200-B      Unmarked.     Black composition.

Length: 6 inches.

This item appears as "Fig. 84" in W. Keith Neal's book titled Searching For Railway Telegraph Insulators.  Keith describes it as follows:  "Insulator for line to signal, made of black composition and used on L. & S.W. Railway near Fareham."  

The attached tag reads: "Varley's Patent 6-5-1865.  N.B described as made of ebonite."

Excellent, aged condition.

This historical, early relic was once part of Keith Neal's collection, later purchased by Marilyn Albers after Keith's passing, and still later became a part of the Jim & Lis Bergman collection after Marilyn passed.
