Description

#3245       CD 199      (Emerald trademark).      Bright yellow green.

A large, single piece "transposition" style insulator produced for C.S. Knowles Company, possibly at one of the Elmer, New Jersey glasshouses.  These rarely found green units are highly sought by collectors, with only a limited number known.  Most were found on the West Coast, including California and the Pacific Northwest, but also known to have surfaced in the Upper Midwest portion of the US.

The embossed emerald was a registered trademark of C.S, Knowles.  See third image for a copy of a page from a Knowles catalogue.

This design is quite prone to damage, especially the top umbrella portion.  An exception here that has fared exceedingly well!  Second photo shows two small open bubbles on the reverse base of the umbrella.  One of them has a hint of flaking on the edge (minuscule).

Note..... the entire dome above the wire groove is solid glass!  Especially attractive, wavy glass surface.  A beauty in all respects!
