Description

#3249       CD 257      HEMINGRAY      PATENT JUNE 17 1890   MAY 2 1893.      Electric blue.

A somewhat darker, brighter color than is typical in an electric blue "Mouse."  Most often, these blue beauties have an opaque, slag-like, white impurity in the glass.  This one has transparent glass, lacking the impurities, thus the color is a little darker.

The ever popular, electric blue "Mickey Mouse" insulator was found on high voltage lines in the Kansas City area decades ago.  They are among the most popular insulator types in the hobby.

These transparent examples, lacking the usual impurities, are rarely found.  Plus, the glass has nice color saturation, so this sparkler should be of special interest.

One drip point that's partially flaked has a fingernail size chip (shallow) on the  inside of the skirt.  It has been filled with resin (minor).  A chip (not through) on the side skirt has been resin filled.  Remainder of insulator is excellent.

UPDATE: 7:45 A.M., Wednesday, October 4.  Second photo added, showing the side skirt chip which has a resin repair (does not go all the way through).
