Description

#3255        CD 102       N.W.&.B.I.T. CO.        Green-grey.

A rarely encountered colour variant that fits between grey and green!  Another oddity that should be of special interest to those seeking the various colours available in NW&BIT ponies.

Several amethyst shades/tones are scarce in ponies with this embossing.  Green examples are much more difficult to locate, and can be found in somewhat differing tones.  Gray units are also quite elusive, some having very faint amethyst tones.  This one is different, having both grey and green tones.

Produced for the New Westminster & Burrard Inlet Telephone Company, which operated telephone lines in the general vicinity of Vancouver, British Columbia.  Although the company serviced lines in that area, the majority of embossed NW&BIT ponies have been found far to the east, in a completely different region.

A very special example for the collector seeking a color run of NW&BIT ponies.

Smaller than match head bubble on the lower wire ridge is open, and has a half pinkie nail flake.  Otherwise, just minor (pin head and match head) surface blemishes.

Lots #3254 through #3258 are shown in the second photo.

Update:  7:25 A.M. Friday, October 6.  Third image added, showing the small open bubble and shallow flake at center of lower wire ridge.
