Description

#3272       CD 123       E.C&M CO S.F.       Teal tone.

4-1/8” height.      “B” mold.

Very dark aqua EC&M's often have a tendency to resemble the color "teal."  This one goes a step further than the majority in teal appearance.  It's a touch more blue and has excellent richness.

EC&M’s saw widespread usage throughout the West in the 1870’s, first on telegraph lines, and then on telephone lines as that means of communication became more popular. They have been found as far north as British Columbia, Canada, and southward into Mexico. A few have even surfaced in Hawaii. Most were used in California and Nevada, to a great degree on railroads and lines constructed for mining purposes.

Insulator in excellent condition from top to bottom on the outside.  The sharp, tapered base was needlessly buffed on the outermost edge to remove flaking, lowering the insulator height by about 1/8 inch.
