Description

#3286       CD 133.2       L.A.C.      PATD JULY 25TH 1865      P&W       Green aqua.

An early threaded insulator with very thick glass and strong embossing on the skirt.

Believed to have possibly been manufactured in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

The meaning of the "P&W" marking is unknown, but could represent names of individuals who were associated with the glass factory that produced them, or perhaps a supply company that distributed them.  They have been found in numerous locations, indicating the "P&W" marking likely does not represent a railroad name, as some collectors have suggested in the past. The "L.A.C." marking is in reference to Louis A. Cauvet's patent for a threaded interior and corresponding threaded pin.

A beauty in exceptional, very near mint+ condition!!!!
