#3294 CD 151 H.G. CO. PETTICOAT. Depression glass green.
Excellent glass clarity and unusual coloration make these old Hemingray products popular with collectors. Some were found on the “Rock Island” railroad right of way in Iowa many years ago.
An item seldom seen for sale in recent years.
The Hemingray Glass Company manufactured various products besides insulators, including wares such as lamps. Sometimes large glass batches initially created for lamps and other products were used in insulator production. Likely, that's is the case with these "depression glass" green units, which have been found in very limited numbers.
The sharp, top wire ridge has three flakes in the front. Two are wooden match head size. One is just a little larger. Reverse upper wire ridge has two flakes nearly identical to the front, and another that's narrower than a pencil eraser diameter, but just a touch longer. Shallow b-b ding on dome. There's some small damage, but not that distracting.
