Known as the "Smooth Wade."
This threadless insulator style saw widespread usage on lines in which Jeptha Wade was associated. The Western Union Telegraph Company used large quantities of them, mostly on new line construction from the early to middle 1860’s. They have been found in a widespread area, most heavily concentrated in the Midwest.
Exceptional, very, very near mint condition!!!
